I’m Bill Oliver, founder of Mission76 and a financial planner who believes in straight talk and practical guidance. My mission is simple: to help people better understand their financial lives and make informed decisions aligned with their goals and priorities.
After serving in the U.S. Army Infantry, I built Mission76 to bring clarity and accountability to people who are tired of vague conversations and one-size-fits-all approaches. Buffalo is my home, and I take pride in bringing that same grit and loyalty to my work with clients.
I live in Buffalo with my partner, Amy, and our dog, Mia. I’m the oldest sibling, and family means everything to me. My brother, Ben, and sister, Mary, keep me grounded and motivated.
In July, Amy and I lost our Pomeranian, Gia. She was part of our lives for years, and saying goodbye was a powerful reminder of how deeply we can love, and how important it is to plan thoughtfully for the people and pets who depend on us. We carry her memory with us as we raise our new pup, Mia.
Losing my mom to cancer on my 21st birthday shaped how I see the world. It taught me how fragile life can be, and how important it is to think ahead and protect what matters most. That perspective stays with me in every conversation I have with a client, because life is personal and often unpredictable.
Outside of work, I make time for interests that bring balance and enjoyment to my life. I’m a firearm enthusiast and collector, enjoy riding my motorcycle, and love attending concerts. Exploring new restaurants is a favorite pastime, and I have a deep appreciation for music and storytelling, especially movies. I’m a longtime fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and continue to find meaning in the way those stories explore courage, loss, and legacy. I aspire to learn guitar, return to snowboarding, and find time to learn golf.
